On April 5th at the Sustainable Energy for All Forum in New York City, Sustainable Energy for All (SEforAll), Wallace Global Fund, GreenFaith and a coalition of other faith and philanthropy partners announced the formation of Shine: Investing in Energy Access for All. Driven by the achievable goal of ending energy poverty by 2030, the Shine campaign will unleash new resources and impact investments in the field of energy access, scaling distributed, safe clean and affordable energy solutions for those who need them most. The campaign’s press conference featured Mary Robinson, former and first female President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The Hon. Mary Robinson also published a powerful op-ed after the forum: We Can Advance Human Rights by Starting with Energy Access.
